Best Paper Prize

Since 2009, the European Business History Association (EBHA) has awarded a prize for the best paper on European business history presented at its annual congress. That tradition will continue at the 2013 EBHA congress in Uppsala.

The prize consists of a certificate and a cash prize of €350.00. The winner will be announced and the prize presented at the annual meeting’s gala congress dinner.
Papers which meet the following three criteria are eligible:

1) the paper is on European business history;
and
2) the paper is related to the conference theme;
and
3) the paper is delivered electronically to the prize committee on or before the deadline specified by that committee.

The term “European business history” is defined broadly, but it is related to the topic of the paper, NOT to the author’s nationality or place of residence.

There are two ways of nominating papers for the competition. Presenters may nominate themselves by sending their papers as a Word document or a PDF file by email to the prize committee by 25 July 2013. Alternatively, chairs or discussants may nominate papers from their sessions for consideration for the prize. Again, papers should be sent as a Word document or a PDF file by email to the prize committee by 25 July 2013. The email address for nominations is: tom.petersson@ekhist.uu.se
